Who We Are

Daris Tele Limited is the data controller for personal data collected through our services and website. This Policy explains how we collect, use, protect, and share your data in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA). It applies to clients, website visitors, newsletter subscribers, event attendees, and job applicants.

Data We Collect

How We Use Your Data

We use personal data to deliver our advisory services, manage client relationships, process payments, send our Insight newsletter and event invitations (where you have subscribed or we have a legitimate interest), improve our website, meet legal obligations, and process job applications.

Legal Basis for Processing

We process data on the basis of contractual necessity (to deliver services), legitimate interests (business operations, fraud prevention, thought leadership distribution), legal obligation (tax and regulatory compliance), and consent (newsletter subscriptions and non-essential cookies).

Sharing Your Data

We do not sell your data. We may share it with IT and cloud service providers (under data processing agreements), professional advisers, and Nigerian regulatory bodies where required by law. We do not transfer data outside Nigeria without adequate protections in place.

How Long We Keep Your Data

Client engagement records and financial data are kept for 7 years. Enquiries are kept for 2 years. Newsletter subscriber data is kept until unsubscription plus 2 years. Event records are kept for 3 years. Unsuccessful job applications are deleted after 12 months. Website analytics data is anonymised within 14 months.

Your Rights

Under the NDPA 2023, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your personal data, and to object to or withdraw consent for certain processing. To exercise any right, email info@daristele.com. We will respond within 30 days. You may also complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission at ndpc.gov.ng.

Security

We protect personal data using encryption, role-based access controls, multi-factor authentication, and staff confidentiality obligations. In the event of a breach posing risk to your rights, we will notify the NDPC within 72 hours and inform affected individuals as required.

Cookies

Our website uses strictly necessary cookies (always active), and analytics, preference, and marketing cookies (with your consent). You can manage cookie preferences via the banner on your first visit or through your browser settings.

Children

Our services are directed at professionals and organisations. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. Contact info@daristele.com if you believe a minor has submitted data to us.

Updates

We may update this Policy periodically. Material changes will be communicated via our website or email at least 14 days before taking effect.
